As we’re turning the corner to a new year, let’s leave in the old one what no longer serves our highest good.
2017 has been turbulent to say the least but if we’ve learned one thing it’s this: if we choose to leave our comfort zone in order to make a difference in the world, we succeed.
Run for office in your town; march for your rights; call your representatives; support an animal shelter; spend time with seniors at a nursing home; participate in a beach clean up; collect school supplies for underserved students; help a friend; be a considerate neighbor; use personal care products that are organic and cruelty-free; meditate; speak up for those whose voice isn’t heard in society; care for Mother Earth; live your dream.
Both individually and collectively we can create the change we want to see. The change we need to see.
My new year’s wish is that we live in peace. That we all shed the armor of arrogance, resentment, worry, and lack that drive us to do insane things like destroying earth, animals, and ourselves.
Let’s make 2018 truly a new year. Let’s cultivate what genuinely nourishes us so that, finally, all beings may live in peace.
Happy new year, dear ones!
P.S.: If you'd like to extend your love to those whose voices aren't heard by society, consider making a donation to your favorite charity (they're tax-deductible). May I suggest Animal Haven, A Purposeful Rescue, The Gentle Barn, PAWS Chicago, Farm Sanctuary, The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
