I recently had the pleasure of attending the 4th annual Bulletproof Conference in Pasadena, CA. Relying mostly on my intuition rather than tech to guide my life, I wondered how I’d vibe with a crowd of dedicated data geeks and biohackers. Sure, I’ve got the food part pretty dialed in but I’m about as familiar with the avalanche of new tracking toys and performance gadgets as a bat is with eau de parfum and sunlight.
Enter, the Tech Hall. That’s where the live, in-person experiences really shine: Imagine being able to play hands-on with the devices you’ve heard Dave talk about on his podcast. Want to take a red-light bath to up your vitality? You’ve got it. Want to increase your immunity with a shot or IV-drip at the Clinic? You’ve got it. Want to chill and recharge your body at the oxygen bar? You’ve got it.
Moreover, I love when I get to engage with folks who create tools that can enhance my life! Case in point: I’m a fan of nourishing my body with healthy fats and proteins from sustainably wild-caught fish, which is why I’m thrilled to have found Vital Choice. Their brain-loving sardines in organic tomato sauce are off the charts delightful, the mackerel's oh so satisfying, and the canned Alaskan salmon is gourmet on the go. Perfect for travel or a lazy night in. Note: I’m an affiliate for Vital Choice. Lucky me!
Keeping toxins out of your body pertains to food choices as much as it does to air quality. Living in the heart of Manhattan asks more of your lungs than residing by the ocean in Maine, for instance, which is why Air Oasis feels like a nice option for this concrete jungle dweller. Its NASA developed technology not only purifies air, it sanitizes it. Their Air Angel is especially handy for upgrading hotel rooms...
Speaking of beds, I don’t own a Samina sleep system yet but test-driving it at the conference has got me intrigued. Built of all natural, non-toxic layers that harmonically coordinate with your body, Samina provides a foundation for superior sleep and high performance.
Sleep, sex, and relating to your significant other are some of John Gray’s favorite topics -- and that’s probably why he gave the best talk of the conference. I also got a 6-second, oxytocin-boosting hug from him. I’ll share more about John’s work soon but make sure to preorder his new book now. He’s making your relationships easier, smoother, and hotter, ladies and gents.
Long conference days call for high-performance fuel. While they didn’t serve the Bulletproof decaf I enjoy so much, the baristas were kind and flexible enough to make me hot chocolate with Brain Octane and grass-fed ghee. Thanks, guys! And, folks, keep an eye out for new launches and bite-size Collagen Bars... Yum!
Did I morph into a data geek by the end of the conference? Nope. Have I picked up practical ideas to implement in my life? You bet. Heavy weights, here I come (good for your hormones, ladies!); dialing in intermittent fasting, yes please; getting myself a pair of nerdy-cool blue blockers to optimize my sleep... yup.
Immersing yourself in any personal growth environment for 3 days straight will impact you on a cellular level. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to play in Bulletproof land and very much look forward to the new Bulletproof Labs opening right next door to the SaMo coffee shop.
